Kudwa is proud to announce its participation in the project “Drets i Desigualtats en la Intersecció” (Rights and Inequalities at the Intersection), led by the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC). This research, funded by the Department of Equality and Feminisms, focuses on exploring public policies and lived experiences of LGBQ+ individuals of Islamic origins or contexts in Catalonia.
The project aims to address the unique intersectional challenges faced by these individuals, such as racism, xenophobia, and LGTBIQ+ discrimination, and analyze their impact on citizenship and societal participation. Through fieldwork, including interviews, the project seeks to highlight their experiences and inform academic publications, public policy recommendations, and professional training sessions for practitioners working on LGTBI+ and cultural diversity policies.
As part of this initiative, Kudwa actively contributed by supporting the research process and advocating for greater awareness and inclusion of vulnerable minorities.
At the closure of this impactful project, Kudwa had the honor of presenting at the event “Diversity at the Crossroads: An Intersectional Perspective on Care, Prevention, and Refuge Policies”, held on November 14, 2024, at UVic-UCC. During the event’s roundtable titled “Asylum and Refuge with a Sexual and Gender Diversity Perspective”, Kudwa shared its insights and perspectives, furthering the discussion on integrating intersectionality into public policy frameworks.
Kudwa remains committed to promoting the rights and well-being of marginalized communities and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this critical dialogue.
