Today marks a powerful convergence of celebration and reflection: International Migrants Day, International Arabic Language Day, and the close of an eventful year for Kudwa. As we stand at this crossroads, we introduce our next chapter, aptly named “Abwab”—Arabic for “doors.” In this new phase, Kudwa embraces a refreshed identity, visual language, and digital presence, symbolizing our commitment to opening doors for everyone in our community. Our new slogan says it best: Kudwa, the door to where we belong!

This past year, we’ve seen how an open door can transform lives. We’ve hosted community gatherings that bridged cultures and sparked friendships. We’ve brought together migrants, refugees, and locals in workshops that built new skills, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. Whether it was our “Expertise Exchange” sessions that empowered participants to share their knowledge and talents, or our cultural events—like “Tierra y Pluma,” exploring the richness of poetry and music—every moment reminded us that through open doors, we find each other.

Our door is always open, without locks, inviting everyone to come in. It’s a threshold where language barriers dissolve and understanding flourishes, fittingly highlighted today as we celebrate the Arabic language—one of many voices that enrich our global community. It’s a place where ideas flow, where migrants share their stories and find they are not alone, and where neighbors become allies in building a more inclusive tomorrow.

This door leads to where relationships are formed and connections are made. It’s not just an entrance—it’s a transformative pathway that builds bridges, forging a new family, a thriving community.
